Code with Target

Target came to our creative team at POP to help them solve a tech recruiting challenge, changing their image as a retailer that does tech, to a tech company that does retail.

We were asked to target job-seeking software developers, ages 18-30. In researching this audience, we discovered they saw their work as their craft, much like an artist. They loved the process and journey of working on interesting and evolving challenges, and loved getting credit for their unique approach to problem solving.

So we redesigned codewithtarget.com to be a game that challenged, rewarded, and recognized desirable candidates. I worked closely with POP’s own software developers to create conversational, engaging challenges with easter eggs throughout that would help Target find candidates skilled in object oriented development, security, mobile (android/iOS) development, web UI/front end development, DevOps, infrastructure, and scrum master/agile development.

Working in tandem with the site, we created a series of triggered emails and physical displays and merch for recruiting events.
