Researchers estimate that women occupy around 0.5% of recorded history—meaning their stories have gone untold for centuries. In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we decided to share the untold stories of women in the outdoors. Anecdotes that range from the fearless women who scale mountains to the ones who find pure joy in gardening—and everything else in between.

Runners saw REI as more of an outdoor generalist, not able to service their unique running needs. So we wanted to show runners how REI plays a role in the running community as a holistic run shop.

REI How to Holiday

This was a collaborative effort between marketing, digital, email, and social to produce a cross-channel campaign that showed our customers how to holiday. Using informative content, directional messaging, and a dash of self-aware holiday humor.
